How We Got the Name "Karnik"
The owner, Ray Bauman, use to race sled dogs and he came up with the name from two of his favorite dogs named Kara and Nikki. (Not from Johnny Carson!)
Our Locations
Our First Location - Karnik Pet Lodges was established in 1973 when Karnik Kennel was constructed on Black Road, Monclova Township (Waterville), Ohio.
Our Second Location - Karnik Inn of Toledo was constructed in 1985 and remains a "state of the art" facility for the boarding of pets.
In 2002, Karnik Inn changed its name to Karnik Pet Lodges to more accurately reflect the high caliber of the facilities and services offered.
Our Third Location - 2007 saw the opening of Karnik's newest concept for the pet care industry, Karnik Pet Lodge at Maple Village, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This facility incorporates large, open glass suites for dogs and cats, as well as doggie daycare in the expanded central courtyard. This facility brings to an end the use of bars and chain link for the housing of dogs. The skylights that are a signature part of Ray's designs have been significantly increased. This facility truly sets a new standard for pet care facilities.
